Great recreation programs can still have gaps.
A recreation program can have talented team members, happy participants, and strong enrollment and still leave opportunities on the table.
Sometimes the challenge isn't the quality of the program itself. It's everything surrounding it
Maybe...
Families aren't always sure what comes after the beginner program.
Participants love their first experience, but fewer continue into the next level.
The jump from recreational to developmental or competitive programming feels too big.
Parents don't fully understand progression, commitment, costs, or opportunities until they're already facing a decision.
Your programs have grown and evolved, but the pathways between them haven't always evolved with them.
You know there may be opportunities to improve enrollment, retention, or long-term participation, but it's difficult to see the full picture from inside the day-to-day operation.
A recreation program can have talented instructors, happy participants, and strong enrollment and still have room to become more intentional, connected, and effective.

Hi, I’m Miranda Allison.
I’m an experience designer with a background in psychology, marketing, and recreational programming.
For more than a decade, I’ve worked with young athletes and families as a coach and program leader. As a Skating Program Director, I led the post-COVID growth of an established Learn to Skate and figure skating program to approximately $1 million in annual revenue. My experience spans group and private instruction, camps, events, developmental and competitive programming, giving me firsthand experience with the many ways thoughtful program design can support both participant development and revenue growth.
My experience also extends into hospitality and resort marketing, where I’ve worked to shape service experiences, guest journeys, and memorable moments.
Together, these experiences give me a unique way of looking at recreation. I think about not only what makes a strong program, but how families understand its value, what keeps participants engaged, what encourages them to return or explore what comes next, and how thoughtful communication and experience design can strengthen the experience surrounding the program.
That experience is what I bring to the Recreation Growth Audit: an understanding of the participant, the parent, and the business behind the program.
